This fruit of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s home country, the Austrian federal state Styria, combines fantastic flavour and delight, with the healthy power of true nature.

These apples grow and ripen in the unique microclimate of Styria, in the centre of Europe with warm days and cool nights. They are lovingly tended by skilled and dedicated apple farmers in small to medium sized orchards, far away from the methods of mass-production.

This superior grade is a "Jonagored", a cross between the successful Golden Delicious and the fantastic Jonathan. The finely selected apples that become an "Arnold" are called "Aurelia" in remembrance and dedication to Mrs. Aurelia Schwarzenegger (1922-1998), the mother of the Californian Governor. For many years Mrs. Schwarzenegger was friend and patroness of the region where the Arnolds grow, and still lives on in the memories of many people there.

Apples chosen to be an "Arnold" have to be large (85/80 mm) and flawless with a powerful color ranging from orange-red to carmine with light green to yellow streaks. Its juicy flesh has a harmonic and refreshing flavour ranging from sweet to slightly sour.

An "Arnold" has to weigh between 200g and 250g (7,05 oz and 8,82 oz/ 0,4lb and 0,6lb) and contains more than twice as much Vitamin C as conventional apples, namely 26mg/100g. Just one "Arnold" supplies more than a third of an adult’s daily requirement of Vitamin C.
